Climate Disadvantage - What are the social impacts of climate change?

Your Climate has been working in partnership with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) to explore the social impacts of climate change, particularly for those facing poverty and disadvantage in the UK.

A regional workshop was hosted in Leeds on 27 November to examine new evidence produced by the JRF that spatially maps social vulnerability. Four pilot areas in Kirklees, Sheffield, Hull and Calderdale participated in some local case study work that explored the areas 'climate disadvantage' to either flooding or heat.

Speakers at the event included the JRF, Your Climate, Calderdale Council, Leeds City Council and Manchester University - presentations are now available on-line for you to download.

An event report will be published on this page shortly.
