Adaptation

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) defines adaptation as "adjustments in natural or human systems in response to actual or expected climatic stimuli or their effects, which moderate harm or exploit beneficial opportunities".

'Adapting' to climate change is therefore about being resilient and better prepared for the longer term changes to our climate and the extremes in our weather - some of which we already see today. There are risks we face (such as flooding) and opportunities (like new products and services) presented by a changing climate. By better understanding the risks and potential impacts we can take appropriate, cost effective steps for both the short and long term.

These pages will help signpost you to the resources and tools that will help organisations adapt and become more resilient to our changing climate.
