National Adaptation Plan pubished on 1st July

On 1 July the government laid the first National Adaptation Programme before Parliament in line with a commitment set out in the Climate Change Act 2008. The Programme builds upon the evidence presented in the UK Climate Change Risk Assessment, published in January 2012, and sets out government’s objectives, policies and proposals for addressing the risks identified. Working with the Environment Agency’s Climate Ready support service, Climate UK and its network of Climate Change Partnerships is supporting the actions needed to increase the resilience of local businesses, communities and environment to a changing climate. The severe weather of recent years highlights the importance of taking action now to manage the risks and successfully adapt to changing weather conditions. Our advice, tools and resources help assess climate risks and the actions needed.
