DateMonday, March 25, 2013
Topic Housing Planning, Land & Flood Defence Environment

The C-Plan Energy Assessment Tool for Local Planning Authorities has now gone live with seven authorities already signed up and benfiting from the tool.

All Local Planning Authorities in Yorkshire & Humber can access the tool, which allows developers to demonstrate and verify compliance with local climate change policies as set out in Local Plans.

There is now limited time to register your interest in benefiting from one year's free subscription to the tool by contacting Jon Clubb at jon.clubb@lgyh.gov.uk or phone 01924 200262.

Key benefits of C-Plan include:

  • Automation of key data to give Local Planning Authorities an assessment of whether a development proposal meets local energy efficiency and renewables targets
  • Potential large cost savings against individual Local Planning Authorities procuring specialist advice or gaining the tool indepedently
  • Development and set up tailored to each Local Planning Authority to match their policy objectives
  • Additional features such as a sustainability check list
  • Ability to count carbon savings and sustainability targets in your planning policies
  • First year's license fee covered by the project

You can find out more about C-Plan at www.sustainabilityplanner.co.uk and you can contact Jon Clubb (details above) if you would be interested benefiting from the C-Plan tool and the relevant user training.
