Through smarter regulation, we can remove barriers to growth and encourage investment, choice and innovation. The Housing Strategy, published in November 2011, commits the Government to developing a thriving, active and stable housing market that offers choice, flexibility and affordable housing.

Energy-efficient homes completed in Barnsley’s Green Corridor

Two energy-efficient housing developments were recently completed in Barnsley, as part of the 'Green Corridor' programme to tackle low demand in former coalfield communities.

South Yorkshire Housing Association (SYHA), in partnership with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and with £1.3m investment from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), has completed two developments of 32 family homes: 22 at Cross Lane, Royston, and 10 at Bramah Street, Carlton.
