Local authorities in Yorkshire & Humber collectively spend £120m per year on energy procurement. With rising fuel costs and unprecedented budget pressures this workshop will help authorities to share and identify good practice, develop networks between the different professional networks involved in procuring, managing and reducing energy use and begin to develop a roadmap to reduce regional spend on energy.

Creating & Managing Resilient Local Highways - resource published

A new resource for practitioners involved with the maintenance and development of the local highway network in a changing climate has been published by Climate UK. 'Creating & Managing Resilient Local Highways' follows the successful event in Wakefield presented by Your Climate, in association with Climate UK and national partners, including the Department for Transport and ADEPT that was aimed at local authority elected members, service managers and officers from highways engineering, maintenance, street services, strategic planning, regeneration, environment and sustainability.

Go Live for C-Plan Energy Assessment Tool

The C-Plan Energy Assessment Tool for Local Planning Authorities has now gone live with seven authorities already signed up and benfiting from the tool.

All Local Planning Authorities in Yorkshire & Humber can access the tool, which allows developers to demonstrate and verify compliance with local climate change policies as set out in Local Plans.

Disadvantaged people and communities can be disproportionately affected by climate change. This landmark event will examine the links between climate change and poverty, help to identify the interdependancies and explore ways to understand and improve our responses through climate change adaptation policy and practice.

Climate Change Risk Assessment Published

The UK Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA) 2012 has now been published. It is the first assessment of its kind for the UK and the first in a 5 year cycle. It provides underpinning evidence that can be used by Government to help inform priorities for action and appropriate adaptation measures.
