David Walker (Deputy Chief Medical Officer) heads up our list of speakers to present the case for integrating climate change adaptation into Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNAs) and local Health and Wellbeing Strategies.
Your Climate and Climate North East will jointly be hosting this special half day event on the morning of 28 February 2014 in York to support the launch of a new health and social care adaptation toolkit called 'Under the Weather'.
The aim of the event will be to introduce the new toolkit and assist health professionals and colleagues to understand how climate change adaptation is important in their local area and how climate change adaptation can be profiled as part of a Health & Wellbeing Board's portfolio of work.
Expert speakers will present the case for integrating adaptation into Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNAs) and local Health and Wellbeing Strategies, explaining how this can help to complement local objectives to improve health and wellbeing, integrate health and care, reduce health inequalities, and meet statutory requirements.
Delegates will be drawn from (but not limited to) the following:
- Members of Health & Wellbeing Boards
- Public Health Professionals
- Commissioners
- Health and Social Care Service Managers
- Practitioners (e.g. GPs, Social Workers)
- Third Sector Organisations
- Sustainability and Climate Change Officers (Local Authorities)
- Non-Government Bodies
