Planners' Training - From Viability to Historical Assets

The comprehensive package of climate change and planning training for officers has continued with Climate Change & Viability covered at the latest round of training events.

During October, ‘Module 8: Climate Change and Viability’ showed planners how to implement, monitor and enforce climate change and related policy requirements. Effective monitoring and implementation is essential to ensure that new development meets its full potential to contribute to communities’ mitigation of and adaptation to climate change.

There are now two more modules to be delivered in the current programme: 

Module 9: Historical Assets and Climate Change

This module will emphasise to planners how they can strike the balance of contribution to climate change mitigation and meeting the requirements of conservation by managing the historic environment.

• Guildhall, Hull, 1pm - 4.30pm, 7 November 2012

• County Hall, Northallerton, 9.30am - 1pm, 8 November 2012

• City Hall, Bradford, 1pm - 4.30pm, 13 November 2012

Module 10: Regulation regimes, likely policy changes and implications for planning requirements, monitoring and enforcement.

This module will show planners how to implement, monitor and enforce climate change and related policy requirements. Effective monitoring and implementation is essential to ensure that new development meets its full potential to contribute to communities’ mitigation and adaptation challenges.
