The Geological Society has prepared a position statement on climate change, focusing specifically on the geological evidence.
The statement, written in a very accessible style, makes it clear that the earth’s climate has been both warmer and cooler than at present, and discusses the current climate within the (much) bigger timescales that the geological record offers.
