Yorkshire & Humber is to benefit from a new Climate Change Skills Fund in 2010/11. The key aims for the £860k fund are to:
- Facilitate the delivery of increased renewable energy supply through the activities of local authority planning departments.
- Help local authorities more broadly, including training for members.
- Allowing planning departments to promote better community engagement in the planning process, including on renewables.
Management of the funding in Yorkshire & Humber will be via YoHr Space, the Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership.
