60% cut in CO2 by 2030, recommend Committee for Climate Change

The Committee for Climate Change has recommended that UK emissions are cut by 60% (on 1990 levels) in their advice to Government for the Fourth Carbon Budget period (2023-7).

This reduction can be delivered through:

  • Radical reform and decarbonisation of the electricity market
  • Widespread development and deployment of low carbon vehicles
  • National transformation of homes and non-residential buildings
  • Halving of emissions from industry by 2030
  • More carbon-efficient farming practices
