Natural resources such as land, water, soil, plants and animals should be used and managed within boundaries that allow the resource to renew itself. Otherwise, well-being, for present and future generations, will be impacted.

This POSTnote sets out the challenges to achieving this aim, whilst considering the complex trade-offs between social, economic and environmental objectives.
