Creating Growth, Cutting Carbon: Making Sustainable Local Transport Happen

The Local Transport White Paper sets out the Government's vision for a sustainable local transport system that supports the economy and reduces carbon emissions. It explains how the Government is placing localism at the heart of the transport agenda, taking measures to empower local authorities when it comes to tackling these issues in their areas.The White Paper also underlines Central Government's direct support to local authorities, including through the Local Sustainable Transport Fund, a £560m fund to address the urgent challenges of building economic growth while tackling climate change.
